The headline and largest event that we have at Maple Shade Farm is the Annual Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree a tribute to one of the harvest seasons most popular products the pumpkin. Rain date October 23rd. The day’s events include pumpkin-carving stations on-site, carving demonstrations, children’s entertainment, a jack-o-lantern contest, and a giant pumpkin display. Special exhibits will feature the history and facts about pumpkins including their growth cycle and development. These special demonstrations and activities will be in addition to the farms regular offerings. The Jamboree will also feature; local produce and products, crop art, animals, outdoor recreation, entertainment, crafts, and food.
The highlight of the Jamboree will be a giant display of Jack-O-Lanterns all lit at the same time in an attempt to break a local record that we set and try to beat each year. Individuals are encouraged to bring a jack-o-lantern, visitors at the farm will be able to carve a jack-o-lantern on site, and jack-o-lanterns will be solicited from surrounding communities, schools, clubs, organizations, and businesses.
