Bennett descendants return to their roots. Descendants of Timothy and Lillie Bennett the first African American family to settle in Delaware County will assemble on September 27th at the Delaware County Historical Association Museum in Delhi. The descendants will view exhibits, listen to speakers and be given a tour of the Frisbee house. The assembly will then visit Maple Shade Farm where Timothy and Lillie leased land and the family cemetary is. Area residents who would like to attend are welcome. Some walking will be involved.

Farm Catskills Food for Thought Day!

We participated as farmer facilitators in a day long event at the local high school promoting food awareness and local food.

Grades 9-12 Participated by watching Food Inc. , ate a local lunch, and held breakout discussions on animal treatment, food production, food safety, farming, and local food.

We had the opportunity to learn about all the possibities agritourism can afford farms, saw some great new products for farms, and most importantly had the chance to network with farmers and producers from Canada to California, England, and Albany!
