Maple Shade Farm under the ownership of Jay and Abigail Wilson will be open to the public during the harvest and holiday seasons and year-round for community events and parties. Visitors to Maple Shade Farm will enjoy all the traditional fall harvest activities on this historical New York farm. Maple Shade Farm will offer a pumpkin patch, hayrides, a corn maze, farm animals, country hiking, games, and an agri-cation center. The agri-cation center located on the second floor of the barn will incorporate multi-disciplined activities, arts and crafts and hands-on discovery areas all with an agricultural focus. Maple Shade’s farm store located on the ground level will feature local crafters, artisans and locally grown foods, produce, and products to purchase. A tourist information center will offer information about local producers and products, crop art, other farms to visit, outdoor recreation, entertainment, as well as dining, lodging, and shopping in the area.
Special events during the grand opening year will build excitement and draw visitors to the farm by adding value for tourists coming to upstate New York. Maple Shade Farm will offer special events on special weekends during the harvest and holiday seasons. These agricultural events will include Generation’s Day, Children’s Day, the Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree, and Christmas on the Farm with Santa’s visit and more. Many of our special events will be held annually creating a tradition for visitors and the local community to look forward to year after year.
